英格蘭超級足球聯賽是英格蘭最高級別的足球聯賽，自成立以來，已有59個足球場舉辦過英超比賽。第一球季英超比賽於1992年8月15日舉行，共有11家俱樂部參賽[1]。在1989年希爾斯堡慘劇後，泰萊報告（英語：Taylor Report）建議在1994-95球季開始前取消露天看台，取而代之的則是全座位球場（英語：all-seater stadium）[2]。然而，在2000-01球季富勒姆從英格蘭足球冠軍聯賽升級後，由於英足總允許俱樂部使用額外時間來完成球場翻修，露天看台暫時回歸英超[3]。因克拉文農場球場的建造時間過長，富勒姆被迫在洛夫特斯路球場進行比賽，在2004-05球季球場建造完成後，他們回到了主場[4]。

2009年8月19日，伯恩利的主場摩亞球場迎來了俱樂部隊史首次主場迎戰衛冕冠軍曼聯的英超比賽，摩亞球場也成為了英超第50座球場[5][6]。
